For over a decade, Shane Norrie has been working with clay. Through experimentation with various methods of pottery making, Shane continually develops his distinct, organic style. His pottery, which has quickly gathered a dedicated base of collectors, patrons, and gallery representation, is carried in top galleries across Canada.

His sculptural pieces have gained much appreciation from seasoned collectors and gallery owners.

His paintings, which echo the feel of his ceramics have seen much success, and are included in collections in Ontario, Nova Scotia, Manitoba, Alberta, British Columbia, Utah and New York,
They are also included in the RBC Corporate Collection, County of Oxford Collection as well as HSBC Executive Collection, New York, NY

At 30 years old, he has created a successful and promising career, and exhibited his work internationally. He was invited to exhibit his work overseas, in an eight-month travelling exhibition, sponsored by the Japanese Embassy in Belgium and the Province of Antwerp with five other Canadian ceramic artists. He was also a participant in an invitational exhibition in Luxembourg, with three other Canadian artists. In October 2009, he will be participating in a ceramics exhibition at Sanbao Ceramic Art Institute at Jingdezhen, China.

In 2004, the Ingersoll District Collegiate Institute Shane Norrie Art Scholarship, was established at his former high school. This scholarship honours a graduating student who has chosen to pursue creative post-secondary studies in a visual art-related program and displays determination and passion for the visual arts.
